Victory over afflictions I

Read: Isaiah 43:1-3

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all – (Psalms 34:19)

The theme verse reveals that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him or her from all of them. Afflictions are difficulties and challenges in life. Afflictions are difficult moments and situations in a believer’s life. Afflictions are challenges, problems and hardships. The righteous may sometimes go through or face afflictions.

Therefore, afflictions are not a sign of a sinful lifestyle. The disciples of Jesus had their portion of storms. Apostle Paul was stoned and beating for healing the sick and preaching the Gospel. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord will deliver him from all of them. This means that no affliction is permanent. Every affliction has an expiry date. There is some reading this devotional message. The Lord says, Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name. You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, He will be with you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned (Isaiah 43:1-2). This means that God is not a fair weather God. He is with you in all situations and will deliver you from all difficult situations.

Listen! God will not teach you a lesson with afflictions. God does not punish His children with afflictions. That is not God’s nature. He does not have afflictions to give to His own children. He will not afflict you and promise to deliver you from it. God wants His joy to remain in you so that your joy will be full (John 15:11). Again, the blessing of the Lord makes you rich and He adds no sorrow or affliction to the blessings (Proverb 10:22).

• Sickness will come but you will recover and not die.

• Lack will come but the Lord will provide for you.

• Shame will come but the Lord will give you double honour.

• Fear will come but you will rise up in faith in Jesus Name

The Lord will deliver you from all afflictions in Jesus Name. Praise God - Be Empowered
